The Rotary Club of Kyrenia Cosmopolitan is a English speaking and multicultural Club in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus. We received our Charter on January 3rd 2017 and currently have 24 active and 4 honorary members by the end of July 2023.
We meet on every 2nd and 4th Saturday of each month at 1:30 pm in Kyrenia MC Palace Hotel.
Our Club extends a warm welcome to men and women of all ages and all nationalities where resident in Cyprus. Former Rotarians and Rotaractors and interested members of the community with some spare time and energy are all invited to contact us to find out more about joining our Club.
Our members enjoy fun and fellowship in social activities, as well as joining in the teamwork of varied projects and put their life skills to good use and help the Club make a difference locally and worldwide.
Some of our on-going projects are: Tree Planting, Pollination Garden, to help families in need, Supporting Annual World Polio Day, Supporting Güzelyurt Vocational School, Supporting Karşıyaka School and etc.
Visiting Rotarians, Rotaractors and Friends of Rotary are always welcome!

History of the Club
Ο Ροταριανός Όμιλος Κερύνειας
Ο Ροταριανός Όμιλος Κερύνειας ιδρύθηκε το 1970 από ντόπιους επαγγελματίες που αισθάνθηκαν την ανάγκη να συνασπιστούν για να βοηθήσουν πιο αποτελεσματικά τους συνανθρώπους τους.
Εκείνα τα ευτυχισμένα χρόνια ο Όμιλος μεγάλωνε χρόνο με χρόνο και δημιουργούσε δεσμούς και αδελφικές σχέσεις με άλλους παλαιότερους ομίλους στην Κύπρο και στο εξωτερικό.
Ο Όμιλος μας αντιμετώπισε δύσκολους καιρούς αμέσως μετά την Τουρκική εισβολή του 1974 και την κατοχή των βορείων περιοχών της Κύπρου και την εκδίωξη των Ελληνοκυπρίων από τις πατρογονικές εστίες τους που ακολούθησε.
Αρκετούς μήνες μετά την ημερομηνία αυτή ο Όμιλος κατόρθωσε να μαζέψει τα περισσότερα από τα μέλη του στη Λευκωσία και κανονικές συναντήσεις γινόντουσαν στο ξενοδοχείο Χίλτον. Επί των ημερών μας οι συναντήσεις του Ομίλου μας γίνονται στο ξενοδοχείο ΚΛΕΟΠΑΤΡΑ.
Σχεδόν σαράντα χρόνια μετά την εισβολή έχουμε είκοσι δύο μέλη που στην πλειοψηφία τους κατάγονται από την Κερύνεια, την Λάπηθο και πρόσφατα από τον Καραβά. Η Λάπηθος και ο Καραβάς όπως και η Κερύνεια ήταν ακμάζοντες Δήμοι.
Το λιμάνι της Κερύνειας αποτελεί το έμβλημα του Ομίλου μας, συμβολίζοντας την ακλόνητη αποφασιστικότητα μας για επιστροφή στα πατρογονικά εδάφη.
The Rotary Club of Kyrenia
The Rotary Club of Kyrenia was founded in 1970 by local professional people who felt the need to come together and help more efficiently their fellow human beings.
The Club grew stronger year by year in those happy days establishing ties and fellowship with other older clubs in Cyprus and abroad.
Our Club went through difficult times immediately after the 1974 Turkish invasion and occupation of the northern areas of Cyprus and the subsequent expulsion of the Greek Cypriots from their ancestral homes. Several months after that date the Club managed to gather most of its members in Nicosia and the regular meetings were held at the Hilton hotel. Nowadays, the Club’s meetings take place at the CLEOPATRA hotel.
Almost forty years later after the invasion we have twenty two members who in their majority come from Kyrenia, Lapithos and recently Karavas. Lapithos and Karavas were thriving Municipalities like Kyrenia.
The Kyrenia harbor is the emblem of our Club, symbol of our unshaken determination to return to our home city.
